Care Closet Online!

At present, the online inventory is used for browsing only.  With it you can search for items you wish to request, and perhaps see other items you might find useful as well.  
 

To request items: either call the Care Closet line: (206-473-8715) or email the Care Closet at:  carecloset@vashoncarenetwork.org.   Please include your phone number as well as your requested item and your name, whether you call or email.

If you'd like to browse our inventory, simply click on the “Inventory” graphic in the dark-gray bar above and take a look at what we offer. 

If you are looking for a particular item click the  “Search Inventory” text field in the dark-gray bar above and type in the name of the item that you need.  

Pick up and return loaned items

Once you have checked out an item, a Care Closet team member will contact you to let you know when it will be set out for you to pick up at the Care Closet Barns located at the Vashon Lutheran Church.

Because we currently have no set hours, once you're contacted by the team that the item is ready to be picked up, you may come pick it up at your convenience. When you are ready to return the item, please leave it at the south Care Closet barn under the “return borrowed items here” sign posted on the side of the south barn.  

We do not charge a fee for membership or the loan of our equipment, but if you would like to contribute to the Vashon Care Network's Care Closet fund, go to our Donate page on our main website.   

Where is the Care Closet?

The Care Closet operates out of the Vashon Lutheran Church, located at 18623 Vashon Highway SW.  To find out more about the Care Closet, please visit:  https://www.vashoncarenetwork.org/carecloset.    

The Care Closet is a nonprofit organization from the Vashon Lutheran Church which has generously allowed us to use their property for our inventory barns; please do not disturb the Church with Care Closet inquiries.

A lending library for in-home care and hospice equipment… 

 The Care Closet lends out a variety of equipment for in-home care and hospice use. The Care Closet inventory includes:

• Crutches
• Canes
• Walkers
• Wheelchairs
• Commodes
• Bath chairs

And disposable, single use items 

It's great that equipment can get reused and recycled, but some items are a little more one-and-done. The Care Closet stocks a supply of single-owner items and disposable supplies with no lending agreement and no return date. These include:

• Incontinence supplies
• Urinals and bedpans
• Gowns
• Alcohol preps
• Braces and splints
• Hospital bed bedding
• Pill boxes
• Skin care and personal hygiene items
